Embers of the Crown
A downloadable game
Introduction
Ember of the Crown (EotC) is a story-based, tactics-like game that draws heavy influences from titles such as Fire Emblem and Dark Deity. It uses a blend of pixel art and traditional artwork to paint a story.
Combat will feel familiar to those who have enjoyed EotC's influences. Players will command a battalion of characters on a grid-system, leveraging various systems like skill trees, classes, and a counter-system to win their battles and progress the story.
Storyline
The kingdom of Aetherra stood as a beacon of magic, nobility, and balance—until it was suddenly and ruthlessly destroyed from within. On what should have been an ordinary day of training, a young soldier named Kendrix spars with his friend Prince Caelan, only to be interrupted by Lyanna, a calm and gifted mage who urgently calls them to a war meeting with the king.
Before a plan can be forged, the castle is engulfed by a violent siege. A dark army, guided by a commander who once served the very throne they now seek to destroy, strikes with terrifying precision. The enemy wasn’t just prepared—they were already inside.
In the aftermath, Kendrix awakens alone among the ruins. With the royal line shattered and the kingdom in chaos, he sets out into a fractured world—one where hope flickers like dying embers. As he searches for survivors, he reunites with Lyanna and begins to uncover the truth behind the kingdom’s fall.
Together, they gather unlikely allies:
- Aurelia, a fierce dragonblooded warrior with fire in her blood
- Kiera and Riven, foxkin outcasts skilled in speed and stealth
- Elven sentinels and fallen knights who still believe in something greater
- Finn and Nira, young, unproven souls who may shape the world’s future
Their journey will pit them against the shadow of Maerin—a former loyalist driven by pain, loss, and the belief that the old world had to burn to forge a better one. His crusade isn’t one of madness, but conviction, forcing the heroes to confront not only the darkness around them, but within.
As ancient relics awaken and bonds are tested, Kendrix must carry the weight of a broken crown. Will he rebuild the past—or light a new path from the ashes?
